the twinkle in my eye

yesterday i was lucky enough to meet jen and patrick and mr t. we overcame our shyness long enough to have cold drinks and let our children play together in the gutter.

patrick was utterly charming in his guitar pants and offered me a kiss and cuddle upon departure.

as i walked away from the cafe, a gentleman at another table said, “oh! i thought they were twins!” i think it’s pretty clear that they’re not twins, but it seemed a sweet thing to hear and it made me smile. as did the whole time we spent at the cafe.
