the twinkle in my eye

the twinkle was in fine form today. her nanna came over today. (nanna is her omternal grandmother – previously known as nonna, but she reverted back to the aussie version.) this is the twinkle that was in da house today:

from the moment her nanna arrived she was on fire with the performance. all her noises, all her tricks, all her musical instruments, all her show-off eating styles. and then her uncle a arrived and she went nuts for him too. you’ve never seen so many toothy grins from one kid in a day. it was possibly the most exciting day of her life and we’re not really sure why. i mean, it was great to see her family members but we’re not really sure why today of all days invoked such a performance. it was great, though, because nanna and uncle a got to see her at her best. and the twinkle is seeing her maternal grandparents at the moment because they’re overseas so it was nice that she got to see these guys.

when she gets going with a musical performance, she lays out her xylophone, her tin whistle, her mickey mouse rattle/whistle, her ukulele, her elmo guitar (and sometimes her drum) and then goes from one to the next in quick succession – dong dong tweet bzzzzz strum tweeeeet dong ding dong bow-bow-bow tweet donk. talent in spades.
