the twinkle in my eye

we’re so under-rehearsed, we’ve wasted so much time

tomorrow we’re off on our first family holiday. k left today and drove most of the way there – she is chilling out in a motel room in a random beachside town. tomorrow the twinkle and i will fly to said town and then we’ll drive the last two hours together to the beach house where my cousins, and the twinkle’s baby cousin, will be waiting. yay! this is our first holiday together with the twinkle, and the first holiday k and i have had together since we had a couple of days at a different beach house where we came up with the name we gave the twinkle.

thought i’d do a twinkle update before we go because everything new will be old by the time we come back from the trip.  new things:

  • the twinkle has taken to saying goodbye to inanimate objects. example: this evening she was mucking around in the plastics cupboard while i warmed up her milk. when it was time for her to come into the loungeroom to drink her milk she stood and waved goodbye individually to each lunchbox and drink bottle in the cupboard.
  • i also caught her offering a drink of her juice to her new elmo toy.
  • wheeeeee!when she wants us to move she comes to where we are and pushes us. when she wants us to sit somewhere specific she pats the ground or the seat. there is a specific spot on the concrete where i have to sit when i’m watching her play on her new climbing gym. (santa did good!)
  • she has a new word: “stuck”. she needs to use it alot.

I thought Teo was the only one who does the pushing thing if he wants us to do something or go somewhere (it’s mostly me). He literally head-butts my leg if I’m busy and he wants to be picked up, or wants me to go play with him. I thought it was because he was born on the cusp of aries/taurus making him like a bull and ram all rolled into one. Ha!

I remember Ali and Andrew saying “stuck” although it never sounded quite like that. They just couldn’t get a handle on the sssss sound. We got a few odd looks from strangers!! LOL!!

Have a great holiday!!!!!!!

Patrick has started patting the ground next to him if he wants me to come and sit down… it’s gorgeous.

I love the saying hi and bye to inanimate objects- it’s so cute.
